As the Office Manager/Sales & Marketing Representative for the Hudson branch of Ohio Real Title, Connie Leslie works to both oversee the day-to-day operations of the branch while instilling the importance of developing relationships with her team members. She notes, “Escrow and Sales must be in harmony in order to have success at the branch level, leading to the overall success of the organization.”
Prior to joining Ohio Real Title, Connie started her own independent closing company after working for more than 20 years as an Escrow Officer and Manager, Operations Manager, and Vice-President for another company.
We recently had the opportunity to talk with Connie about her work, as well as how she spends her time away from Ohio Real Title.

What personal qualities do you have that help you to be successful in your role at ORT?
I am tuned in to people and am both a good communicator and listener. Moreover, I value honesty, integrity, and a strong work ethic. I also choose to run toward rather than away from a good challenge. But I also am the first to admit my mistakes, and learn from each one. I like to call them “perfect imperfections.”
How do you think Ohio Real Title is different from other title companies?
Ohio Real Title values the relationships we’ve built with our clients, from the top of the organization down. Our leaders are forward-thinking and their innovative approach to the title industry has been instrumental in our growth and success.
What is your favorite thing about working at Ohio Real Title
As a Manager, it is acting as a resource for my staff while providing them the opportunity to see and reach their potential. I am blessed with an amazing staff of diligent workers and to see them spread their wings and soar is beyond fulfilling.
As a Sales Representative, it is developing relationships in order to create customers for life. I love to hear what drives people and to figure out how best I can assist in building their success.
How did your role at ORT change during the pandemic?
We all had to adapt to the new, and ever-changing processes all while working to provide a safe environment for our staff. Combined with the astounding number of home sales during a pandemic, this has presented additional challenges throughout the whole industry.
When you are not working, how do you like to spend your free time?
I treasure time with my husband, Joe, my parents who have been married 64 years, and my family. I love to exercise, I love sports, and I enjoy good food and wine with friends. I can’t wait for the day we can re-visit Italy or simply travel to a beach and jog each morning.
What are you listening to/reading/watching?
At this time of year, I listen to Christmas music all day, every day! During my quiet times, I am reading The Shack right now, as well.

What are your words to live by?
I am a huge fan of, The Golden Rule. It is common sense yet often lost – treat others the way you wish to be treated.
