You work hard to build your business, so it is important to take care of yourself so that you can enjoy the fruits of your labor. In fact, a healthy lifestyle and healthy habits can make you a better realtor – eating better, exercising, and practicing self-care will increase your energy and mood, helping you run a more efficient business with better client relationships. Here are a few simple tips that can help you get started on a healthier lifestyle for the new year.
EAT
Eat a healthy diet full of high-quality protein, colorful fruits and vegetables, and healthy fats. Try to eliminate or at least reduce grains, sugars, and trans- and hydrogenated fats from your diet.
MOVE
Incorporate a variety of movement into your daily activities. Many people spend much of the work day sitting, which can lead to long-term health consequences. To counteract this, it is recommended to incorporate 2-5 hours of low-level aerobic exercise – walking, hiking, or biking – into your week.
PLAY
Not all physical activity has to be done at a gym. Take time to engage with friends and family while playing a game – golf, tennis, or taking the kids to the park. This both contributes to your physical well-being, as well as helps to alleviate stress.
SLEEP
Consistent, quality sleep is one of the most important factors in maintaining good health, vibrant energy, and a strong immune system. Follow a good nights’ sleep up with an established morning routine that allows for a relaxing start to your day that may include meditation, exercise, and a healthy breakfast.
THINK
Spend time being creative, reading, playing an instrument, or anything else that might engage your mind. Interacting with others socially is also a good way to stay connected through conversation.
GO OUTSIDE
Sunlight and fresh air can provide a boost in Vitamin D, which gives you mood-lifting benefits. Even during the winter months, make an effort to spend at least a few minutes outdoors each day.
