As the year comes to an end, we got the chance to sit down with Sara Thorp, Columbus Regional Manager & Legal Counsel, and Janelle Keifer, Marketing Executive, to reflect on what 2025 looked like across Ohio’s real estate markets and what they’re watching as we head into 2026.
Momentum to Watch
Across Columbus, Sara noted continued momentum in high-growth areas like New Albany, Gahanna, Plain City, and Dublin, especially with corporate expansion and steady job growth. She also pointed out that investors are still active not only in Columbus, but in Cleveland and Dayton as well.
In Cleveland, Janelle shared that her client base spans two very different ends of the market, and both remained active in 2025. “Investors recognize that Cleveland is one of the hottest markets in the nation. It offers affordability, a vibrant culture, and strong inventory,” she explained, adding that luxury buyers have also remained steady, with many purchasing in cash or staying active even with current interest rates.
How Ohio Real Title Evolved in 2025
Both Sara and Janelle pointed to growth and operational improvements inside Ohio Real Title this year.
Sara highlighted expanded Central Ohio operations, including the addition of a New Albany branch, plus process improvements that support faster turnaround times, more proactive communication, and smoother closings.
Janelle highlighted a major internal evolution as well: the creation of the Sales Manager role, with Rick Capretta stepping in to help maintain sharp market knowledge, integrate title technology, and reinforce accountability.
Highlights of 2025
For Sara, one of the most memorable parts of the job is when a deal looks impossible at first, but the Ohio Real Title team comes together and finds a way to close. “Those are always the moments that remind us why we do this, seeing the relief and happiness on the clients’ faces when it finally comes together.”
For Janelle, the highlight was team culture and consistency. She shared that one thing that sets ORT apart is how the team shows up for each other and leans on accountability and support to stay disciplined and focused in a fast-moving industry.
Looking Ahead to 2026
Heading into next year, Sara expects continued pressure on inventory, especially in the mid-price range, along with higher scrutiny on title, liens, and municipal requirements as compliance enforcement increases.
Janelle also emphasized the importance of understanding regional nuance. Columbus continues to see stronger growth driven by population increases, major employers, and universities, while Cleveland remains a compelling option for buyers and investors because of affordability and cost of living. Her takeaway is simple: both regions are still positioned to thrive.
