At Ohio Real Title, it’s the people that make the difference. We recently caught up with Lisa Thunberg, one of our newest escrow officers at our Medina office, to chat about her background, her career journey, and what she loves most about working at ORT.
Lisa grew up in Cleveland and went to school in Lakewood before heading to Tri-C to study business. She quickly immersed herself in the world of finance, beginning her career at a bank in Strongsville.
“I started in consumer mortgages, handling auto loans, but I worked my way into mortgage lending and, eventually, escrow,” she says. There, she discovered her passion for helping people navigate one of the most important transactions of their lives.
As for how Lisa found her way to Ohio Real Title? “Friends kept telling me that Ohio Real Title had great stability and amazing people,” she says. And after joining the team on July 15th, she saw it firsthand. “Everything flows so smoothly here. I can move files through the process with ease, and there’s a close-knit, supportive atmosphere that’s hard to find anywhere else.”
As an escrow officer, Lisa’s day-to-day involves working closely with the Lenders, Real Estate Agents, Buyer and Seller of every transaction to get us to the finish line. “I’m involved in the whole process from start to finish,” she says. And being based in the Medina office is a bonus for her, as it’s right near her home, making for an easy commute. “The timing just worked out perfectly.”
Lisa is excited about the future of real estate, especially when it comes to learning how to cater to the next generation of buyers and sellers. “It’s fun figuring out how to connect with them,” she says, noting that they’re less likely to pick up the phone and more focused on digital communication. She’s eager to adapt and find new ways to meet their needs and looks forward to doing so while continuing her career at ORT.

Q: What’s your family like?
I was blessed with three kids (two boys and a girl), a miniature poodle named Bella, and a cat named Mica. My oldest son is currently serving in the Air Force in Maryland.
Q: If you’re not at work, where can we find you?
In the summer, on the golf course! Otherwise, I love enjoying time with friends and taking short weekend getaways. Mapleside is one of my favorite spots to relax and soak up nature.
Q: What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
“Follow your instinct.” I was also once told “Don’t be afraid on Spending your money on making memories”, which also left a lasting imprint on me.
