The Ohio Real Title team isn’t wasting any time in 2024. We kicked off the new year by bringing a fantastic new hire into the mix: Sara Thorp. Sara joins the team as our Central Ohio Manager and Underwriting Counsel, and brings with her a wealth of experience in real estate law and the title industry.
While her vast knowledge of the real estate and title processes suggest otherwise, Sara has not always been in the industry. After graduating from Ohio State University, she earned a doctorate in law from Capital University and began practicing in the oil and gas industry in Southeast Ohio. However, when Sara returned to Columbus, she decided to make the switch to commercial and residential real estate. Ten years later, Sara is now a seasoned veteran in the closing process, having gained rich experience in processing, escrow funding, and everything in between. When asked about why she chose to join the ORT team, Sara said it was a combination of factors that convinced her.
“I was highly impressed with the company’s level of organization and structure,” said Sara, “But what truly stood out to me about ORT was witnessing how genuinely enthusiastic everyone was to work there.”

When you are not working, how do you like to spend your free time?
Spending time with friends and family, focusing on fitness, and reading. I love a good self-help book!
Please tell us about your family.
My husband and I happened to meet through the world of real estate, and just celebrated our 5th anniversary together. Together, we have a four-year-old son named Maverick and three dogs – Bruce, Archie and Romeo – who collectively keep us on our toes.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received?
So I’m not sure about advice, but I live my life by the quote “the way you do anything is the way you do everything”. This reminds me to strive to be my best-self in all aspects of life.
