Reading a Mortgage Location

PSA: A title is a right to ownership of specific real estate property, and when it comes to the transferring of property, it’s of the utmost importance that all parties are aware of exactly what the property is and where it is located.

This is where a land surveyor comes in – to confirm the property and its dimensions, identify easements of record, and detail encroachments that affect the property. 

Once this information is collected, it is recorded in the form of a mortgage location. These types of documents may be intimidating at first, but become much more digestible once you understand the various parts being illustrated.
